Data acquisition

A device or system used to acquire and save measurement data from various sensors for a specific test setup. In measurement technology, data acquisition (DAQ) is defined as the recording of analog signals using suitable hardware (e.g., a data acquisition card). In this process, digital measurement data is generated with the aid of an analog-to-digital converter, which can then be further processed by software. A distinction is made between off-line and on-line data acquisition.
