Sled setup for performing sled testing, on a MESSRING Compact Impact Sled (CIS), for testing child restraint systems according to ADAC front and side impact protocol. The child seats are tested at 64 km/h for frontal impact and 50 km/h for side impact. The test sled, on which a five-door VW Polo VI body has been mounted since 2020 (from 2007 up to and including 2010 Opel Astra, from 2011 up to and including 2014 VW Golf VI, from 2015 up to and including 2019 VW Golf VII), simulates a frontal crash with the deceleration pulse from the Euro NCAP front-offset crash. In the side crash, the child seats are mounted on a test bench in accordance with UN ECE R129 with a vehicle door penetrating during the impact.
