The M=STAR calculates the current position, velocity and acceleration of a test object and transmits the data to a client. It can be used to obtain position data from cars or test components during the test procedure. The measurement data provides a very high position accuracy of 1.5 cm horizontally and 3 cm vertically.
Through its functions, the M=STAR can be used to monitor motion data, determine position, or monitor travel through a specific trigger position. It can be mounted on a vehicle roof or other test object as a plug-and-play solution. No cable installation is required. The M=STAR is equipped with a replaceable battery that allows more than 10 hours of operation. The wireless connection allows a measuring distance of 500 meters between the M=STAR and the base station.
Several M=STAR can be used simultaneously on the test site. The streamed data can be used to activate real-time trigger signals for other test equipment, e.g. the activation of a running pedestrian dummy mounted on the MESSRING 6D Mover. All recorded data can be analyzed in detail during post-processing.
