The system replaces the master brake cylinder of the test vehicle. It uses the in-car brake system, especially the front wheel brakes, for emergency stops after test abort.
The brake system includes a pressure accumulator, hydraulic valve, pressure sensor, display, rechargeable battery and electronic control. The brake can either be operated via trailing cable and radio control. Additionally the brake can be activated by means of a tape switch e.g. for use on movable barriers. The tape switch trigger can be delayed by an integrated, adjustable timer.
